Mako at NOCHS

What should you know about our Mako?

• NOCHS is the only hospital in Ottawa County that can perform all three surgeries: partial knee, total knee and total hip replacements. Our surgeons are credentialed in all three areas, and we have invested in the specific modules for the robotic system for each type of surgery.

• There is no Mako system available in Grand Rapids.

• Joint replacement surgery is fairly common, and a routine part of our hospital-based orthopaedic program. Ours is a comprehensive program that has a dedicated coordinator, who works with patients from pre-operative consultation all the way through hospital discharge. We do all of the planning for you.

• After surgery, most patients are discharged home and opt for outpatient rehabilitation support with our specialists at Generation Care. If needed, patients who require more one-on-one care before going home may transfer to our short-term rehabilitation center at Heartwood Lodge.

• Our surgical team is second to none. We have three fellowship trained surgeons who are dedicated to the Grand Haven area. They typically offer same-day appointments for NOCHS patients. Find a Surgeon here.

• Our orthopedic team is the the lakeshore’s experts in Orthopaedic care – no need to travel for office visits, surgery or rehabilitation.

• This is just one more example of key investments NOCHS (the only hospital in GH) is making in hospital-based services (open 24/7/365) to ensure local access to the very best care.
