Private Duty Nursing

Private Duty offers a variety of services to help you and your loved one remain comfortable in their own home. All of our care is administered by Registered Nurses and trained Home Health Aides who are CPR certified and dedicated to bringing compassionate, high-quality nursing care home to you.

Personal Care Assistance

Home Health Aides are available to help you or your loved one with all aspects of personal care. Home Health Aides can provide bathing or shower assistance, hair care, and dressing assistance. They are also available to help maintain your home with light housekeeping, laundry services and meal preparation. In specific circumstances, Home Health Aides are able to help with transportation to appointments and errands with the use of Harbor Transit or client’s personal vehicle. Personal Care Assistance is also available for respite services. Personal Care Assistance is available 2 to 24 hours a day (with a 2 hour minimum).

If you or your loved one finds it difficult to get in and out of the tub or shower, this service includes assistance with an hour shower or bath and dressing.

Toe Nail Care

When bending and reaching your feet becomes difficult, a Registered Nurse can help you with the care of your toe nails.

Respite Care

Are you caring for a loved one in their home? If you feel they aren’t able to be left alone when you cannot be there, Respite Care can help. Home Health Aides can provide your loved one with companionship, meal preparation and medication reminders while you run errands, go to an appointment or simply take a break. (2 hour minimum)

Medication Set-Up

Management of multiple medications taken at different times can often get confusing. Our Registered Nurses can bi-weekly help you or your loved one organize and manage your medications.

Homemaker Services

Homemake services include light housekeeping, such as laundry, linen changes, dishes, dusting or vacuuming (2 hour minimum).

To ensure the safety of you or your loved one, our services require a Registered Nurse to assess for appropriateness of care. There is a fee for initial assessment and 6-month re-evaluation assessments. Initial assessment fee is waived for current skilled nursing, Hospice of North Ottawa Community or North Ottawa Care Center patients.
