In-Patient Hospice Residence at Heartwood Lodge

Our eight-bed Hospice Residence is where those at the end of life receive the most up-to-date care in a home-like setting. Warm inviting colors, and convertible sofas for loved ones to spend the night provide patients and families with an atmosphere of peace and serenity. A living room and library, family spa, kitchen and dining area and beautiful courtyard make the Hospice Residence at Heartwood Lodge a comfortable place for everyone.

Care in this comfortable home helps to make a very difficult life passage more manageable and meaningful. A care-giving team of health professionals and volunteers sensitively provides physical, emotional and spiritual care to those diagnosed as having weeks or months to live. Choice is at the heart of hospice care and service is tailored to meet each individual’s needs.

Registered nurses and nurses’ aides provide around-the-clock care to Hospice residents. The Hospice of North Ottawa Community team of medical social workers, a pastoral care chaplain, trained volunteers, bereavement counselors and consultant therapists are on-call to assist specific residents in need at the Hospice Residence.
